Interested in Featuring?
—Info for Local & Touring Poets—
- We’re always eager to book new features, but although we have readings every Tuesday, one Tuesday each month is a slam, so in effect we have only 3 feature spots open each month. Since there is often a lot of competition for the available feature spots we sometimes need more information before we can book poets whose work we have not seen. What we are looking for is any information you can share on other spoken-word poetry venues you have featured at, venue hosts or bookers you might want to use as references for your spoken-word performances, and (best of all) several videos of your spoken word work. Please send all inquiries and information to our booker, Tara Bernier at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- We generally book 2-3 months in advance; if you are a touring poet planning your next road trip, please get in touch with us sooner rather than later.
- We pay our features a flat fee, not dependent on the gate that night, please inquire for further details.
- Simone Beaubien at the Boston Slam has posted a wonderful online pamphlet called “How to Be A Perfect Stranger: Ten Tips on Being the Best Touring Poet You Can Be.” It has lots of great advice!
